Explore Travel and Cruises offer through the year various special themed weeks for you to enjoy something different that can inspire you and combine your interest and hobbies into your holiday. You will need to contact us for specific dates for the various theme weeks shown below.

All the theme weeks are accompanied by a specialist in that field where their expertise will bring your week alive.

Special interest Egyptology week
For those with a passion for ancient history and in particular Egyptology this is an organized week led by a qualified Egyptologist where you will explore and learn more about the sites in Egypt that are not on the normal tourist route. Delve deep into the City of Tel el Amarna and Beni Hassan and uncover some of the secrets of King Ankh-Aton and Queen Nefertiti. There is also the opportunity to see one of the main intact resource for Ancient Egyptian History at Abydos and much more. There will be lectures, group discussions and special sessions on the understanding of hieroglyphics.

Spiritual and Biblical tour weeks

These trips are great for discovering and seeing the actual lands and places of the some of the most well-known people and places in history as described in the Bible:

Egypt
You can visit some of the most famous Old Testament sites in Egypt including Mt Sinai and the area where God spoke to Moses from the burning bush. Also follow the recorded route of Mary and Joseph as they fled from Herod to protect Jesus from being discovered and see some of the first churches established in this area.

Turkey
If you are interested in discovering more about the ancient churches then we have a week’s trip to discover the Ancient churches of Asia Minor, including Laodacia, Philadelphia and Ephesus. These churches were written to by the apostle Paul encouraging them in their faith and also specifically spoken about in the book of Revelations where most were chastised for their lack of vision.

Golf
Want to combine your passion for Golf with a holiday in the sun then this themed week will make that happen for you.
The week includes staying at some of the best hotels and playing on largely undiscovered professionally designed golf courses in Egypt and Turkey.

Birding holiday
Bird watching is a specialized week we run in Egypt at Explore Travel and Cruises. Birding in Egypt is still relatively new, however with a good travel network throughout the country, access to the Red Sea Coast and all that the Nile Valley has to offer there has never been a better time to go bird watching in Egypt. In addition to the country’s local Western Palearctic birds there are African species and Palearctic migrant birds to be seen, all of which combine to make for a truly memorable holiday.

Egypt – The Nile Week
Take a week on the Luxury Dahabiya Dream and combine a relaxing and peaceful Nile cruise with a qualified specialist therapist who will introduce you to stone treatments and the benefits that they can bring from stress and pain relief.  Along with the guaranteed sunshine there will be massage sessions and facial masque treatments for you.

Spa & Desert Sand Healing week (Aswan)
Aswan is one of the most wonderful winter resorts in the world. The climate is moderate and dry suitable for the treatment method of burying the body in hot sand for a period of time. Jordan
The Dead Sea Spas are famous the world over for their use of the mineral rich mud that they use for their treatments. Choose a combination of treatments and relax by the Dead Sea to restore your well-being.

Turkey
This is a week in the beautiful undiscovered country of Turkey where you can lie by the beach, enjoy the sun and enjoy different relaxing spa treatments to give you a rejuvenating time to yourself for meditation and peace.

Belly dancing lessons

For those who want to learn belly dancing, or maybe you already do belly dancing, this is a great theme week to combine a trip on the Nile on the luxury Dahabiya Dream where you will be joined by a professional dancer to teach you the techniques and style in a traditional environment.  A great week for you and your friends to live and dance in the magic of Egypt which will culminate in a belly dancing competition onboard the dahabiya, with prizes to be won.  A great fun week for all.

Water colouring
Combine a luxury Dahabiya Nile Cruise week with your love of painting.
